Welcome to the World Entrepreneur Summit 2009 wiki.  This is where you can start to set the agenda for WES 2009, meet people who are going before you get there and make sure that the conversations you want at WES are ones that we deliver!

In the current climate, it may seem crazy to organise an event that brings together entrepreneurs from around the world to celebrate the role they play in stimulating sustainable economic development.

WES is an event with a difference. There will be inspirational speakers of course. There will be research, thought-leadership and policy workshops that help vision the future beyond the global recession. But all the speakers and all the workshop facilitators have agreed to roll their sleeves up and work to help you address the challenges that you and the world face. Our goal is to find out what keeps you awake at night and to help you solve those problems. We already have delegates and speakers from around 20 countries attending to help us do this. So come along if you want to:

Be inspired,
Meet mentors,
Talk to investors about finance,
Meet potential partners, customers and suppliers
Want to network with entrepreneurs, thought leaders and policy makers from across the world.
Become an inaugural member of the World Entrepreneur Society and help us shape thinking, networking and action beyond the current crisis.

We know these are hard times for everyone and we have tried to keep prices as low as possible. But we also know that entrepreneurs are the key to sustainable economic development wherever they are: from the smallest community in Sub-Saharan Africa to the world’s largest global firms.

Through innovation and through clear routes to sustainable growth, it is entrepreneurs who will change the world. The Zeitgeist calls for enduring action and WES provides you with the platform for this. Make 2009 the year to make-a-difference!
